My Busiess Process

I’m now working in a food court as a cashier. Main job is recording the order from customers and collecting payment. The four components of the business process consists of activities (Form the total amount of revenue in one day and the order of different kind of food, we can get the information that which kind of food is popular and the quantity of drinks sold.); resources (The food and drinks are resources.); facilities (the things we used for cooking, knifes and the cash machine); and information (the data that which days sales more food and which time sales more things; which kind of food people like better).  

My Favourite Sustainable and Disruptive Technologies

I think the Internet is my favorite disruptive technology. During that, I use the video chatting most. For me as an international student, I always need to connect to my parents in China. They prefer to see me so we often do video chatting. It saved me a lot of money. I just need to pay little on the internet and chatting for a long time. If I phone called them directly, it may cost me 2 dollar/min. The video chatting makes people feel closer. Also, it makes that available for someone who likes face-to-face communication.

Cell-phone which is people use every day is the sustainable technology. We can talk with friends during break time. It’s easy to take and huge functions make more and more people need cell-phones. Sometimes I just need a cell-phone to check facebook, gmail and write something. I don’t need to bring a laptop which makes my handbag light. It also saves the money on Mp3/Mp4, and sometimes camera. It’s so small and makes life more convenience.

My IS Day

• Buy Cafe
  The cashier used the cash-machine which has the system for sales to record what I bought (one cup of coffee and a donut) and how much do I need to pay.
• ATM machine
  The ATM machine with the bank system helped me to know how much money did I have in the bank account after I typed the PIN number in. Follow the steps and withdraw money.
• Search Online
  I used the Dell computer with the Windows Vista system to search information about jobs. Enter the main words related to the jobs and the position, then the related information came out.

Meg Whitman, is one sucessful woman who I admired.
 Whitman was Chief Executive officer and President of eBay from 1998 to 2008, and served on its board of directors. My Employment History

I worked at the Laboratory Services branch (MOE) for four monthes as Chemistry assistant. It was a good oppertunity for me to learn something in real working place. At the beginning, I just did some basic things such as sorting the samples and preparing solution and reagents. After a few days later, I began to learn how to use the equipment to test the samples and what information I can get form the colorful graph. At the end, I can assist the equipment setting up, running and some problem solving. Also, I got more familiar with the professional report writing. Although it was a short work term, I learnt a lot of things which I can't got from the textbooks.

My Educational Achievement

I came to Canada at 2007 and started the education related to Environmental Protection. I finished the the program at May, 2010 and got the diploma form Centennial College. http://www.centennialcollege.ca/

Although I like that program and prefer working in laboratory and doing tests, I changed my program to Business. At the beginning, I just want to learn something related to economic society. After several courses, I felt happy to stay in this new program. It showed me a different kind of world and make me close to the real life.
